Other stuff made by me: -------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit: My my my, I checked my messages this morning and was surprised by the mass of mail's I got. Thanks so much for the DD! Especially to =SweetButtermilk for suggesting and ^Thiefoworld for featuring my artwork. It's like a dream come true! I love you folks!
First, I need to say "Great Job". Excellent choice of colors. The green background helps the main colors of the creature to stand out. The feathers have a lot of detail, this help to make your work look more realistic. You did a really good job with the light and shadows, specially on the face of the creature because it makes the viewers focus on it. The rest of the creature's body such as the tail and the paws, they also look great. I really like the combination of red, white and black that you used on the wings. The most interesting part about this work is that it has really cool colors and a really cool composition that attract your attention and it makes you keep looking at it.
First of all I think this looks very visually appealing with a nice color balance and a both bright and natural looking character design. Looks like you put a great amount of effort into this drawing.
That said I think the character's neck looks a bit too long compared to the rest of the body, and it's twisted too far in a somewhat awkward angle. The tree could also use a rougher texture as it is very smooth compared to the detail level on the character. Lastly I think the highlights are a bit too white compared to the surroundings. This is especially apparent on the front paw/talon, and it would probably look better if you made the highlights more bright green like the beams of light with only a few close to white points of light on the focus points.
But I think you did a great job with this and I can see a great amount of improvement from your past drawings. Keep up the good work!
